The other room
This is a text-based puzzle game that tests players' logical reasoning abilities. The story background is that the player is trapped in a mysterious room and must complete a series of levels set by the game in order to find the exit. Due to time and technical limitations, this is currently just a demo version. Additionally, because of some hardcoded errors in the programming, the answers to the puzzles may be slightly mismatched. I will provide the correct order below the instructions to assist with reasoning. Feedback and comments are also very welcome!

The soundtrack is in stereo, which is great for my ears. Also I noticed the dynamic time box and I am very interested in implementing this feature.
Loading screen was so cool, even though there probably isn't a reason it still adds a lot. Feels more like a console game. I randomly clicked on a name and got surprised when I caught the liar
Two things caught my attention immediately: (1) the use of a loading screen; and (2) animated text. The latter is something I would like to adapt for the use in my own text-based game. I wonder if there's a method to switch the labeled "Start" for "Continue" after its initial use.
Wow there's so many interesting features in this! The additions of the buttons, loading bar, and timer make it seem so professional! I thought the writing of the text on the screen little by little is really immersive, but I also think adding a function to reveal all of the text would be really beneficial as well!
Oooo I'm glad to see another text-based game with a spooky vibe to it XD I also had code for having the text print out letter by letter, but if you want the player to have the ability to click the text to "speed" through the text, here's the tutorial I used!

With this code I was also able to add a sfx everytime a letter was printed, but it was kinda funky and would make a "pop" sound everytime it did :/ But yeah this was indeed very cool :>
This was the first game I got to play in the playtest/critique and I was blown away by how you managed to integrate so many advanced features in this game such as the moving text and the clickable buttons on the screen. The visuals you used were able to bring in a creepy atmosphere through the dark colors and lighting. Some of the text that appears upon making a choice do overlay with each other which makes it hard to read and I would like it if you could make an input to restart after finishing the game but it is solid otherwise.
I like the initial description/exposition. The “light is earned” is a nice line that gave me a sense of what this environment is and what kind of people run this mysterious establishment.
The timer didn't end up working for me, but I really enjoyed the story, even if I was confused at times. I'm curious where the concept for this game came from?
I like how the text slowly appears. I also see that you've played with the UI quite a bit! How did you write the script for that or rather, what function(s) did you use? I also like how it's kind of a different game in every room.
The advanced coding here actually made it harder for me to figure out how to play, but that’s more because I got used to the input.getkeydown and took a minute to realize that you have actual buttons. The atmosphere was nice and spooky, and I got a dungeons and dragons vibe from the characters.
I really enjoyed the level of interaction this one has compared to the other games for this project. The timer didn't work for me (is that how it's meant to be for this demo?).
it should works, have you tabbed the “start” button in the vault theft scene?
After you tabbed that, the timer starts to count. That is where I set the code
I like your game and the theme. I do wish the text were typed a little faster, especially when we get to the interrogation scene. Since there is a timer, the text being typed out so slowly really delays the player's ability to think critically and successfully gauge who the liar is.
Woah there are so many things in this game I would like to know about. I wonder how you were able to make it so the buttons screen was clickable and also how you created the typewriter effect and the loading screen? Overall very interesting game!
I’m also interested in the technicality of the game! I have a feeling they used GUI interface stuff! While I was researching how to get an input for a name, I saw a bunch of people using GUI instead of just UI. I think the loading screen may just be a rectangle that progressively fills and the percentage just goes up from a counted! Unless it’s an actual loading screen but that’s how I would go about it if I wanted to symbolize one
I really like the vibe of this game, and it actually reminded me of Reidar7's Macabre Madhouse, especially with the level of mystery and time-based exploration. I do wonder if there was a way to speed up text (especially for subsequent playthroughs), though I understand that the goal is to have everything in real-time though. The investigatory / Q&A portion is very cool!
This game reminds of of classic fairy tail like riddles, made into a game form. The characters being fantasy roles (mage, elf, etc.) also fits into that vibe. It’s like our childhood stories repurposed into a game, and potentially chisnging the genre. A once simple riddle turned into a horror experience
This game is really well made. I loved the number of choices available and the five-minute countdown added great tension. The background visuals and music worked together wel to set the mood.
I didn’t have enough time to get through the game, but the narrative is very intriguing. I live the use of (en media res?) where it starts in the middle. I would post the controls as well. Very suspenseful!
The part where you choose who the liar is really engaging since there's some stakes in figuring out the target during the Q&A. It reminds me of other games where you have to suss out and outsmart the NPCs to win!
Wow this game has a lot of impressively coded features! The text appearing by letter, the inclusion of input through a clickable button, and the overall narrative/textual scope of the game. Very impressive!
The dark setting combined with the unsettling music really helps set the tone and put the player in a mood of unease. The puzzle was also very interesting if it requires some additional help from the comment.
the way the text appears - slow and letter by letter - rly adds to the ominous, mysterious vibe of the game… i’m somewhat scared of what may pop up, especially with the spooky ambient music
Here is the correct order (use when you get confused in "The Alchemist's Vault Theft" scene)
Questions to Elira:
3. "Do you trust Bran?"➤ “Not really. He’s ambitious, but reckless.”

Questions to Torren:
